Day 26 - Something old

So today's post is about something old. Again, I did not have to think for long. The first person who pops to my mind is my grandmother. I don't think I have come across a more broadminded person like my grandmother. My grandmother has only studied till the 8th grade. She does not have a college education. She is the bold woman, who decided to send my mother to college to do her Masters degree. In those days, it was something that was unheard of. My grandmother wanted my mother to be educated, which my grandma herself is not! She is also a very smart woman. She has picked up words in the English language. Walk up to her and say "Hello, How are you?". She will respond back with "Fine!"

She was also the first person to ask me to divorce my husband, when she heard about my abusive marriage. Amidst all the turmoil that I was going through, I remember being surprised about my grandmother's boldness and clarity in expression.

My Patti ( Patti = Grandma in Tamil) is recovering from an injury to her head. All those who believe in prayer and God, please send one for my bold Patti. She wants to live to see me get married again and I am committed to send positive energies her way so that she can live to see her dream!
Here is a picture of my ultra cool Patti, listening to the iPod / iPhone

Vidya,

I LOVED this post! Sending lots of positive vibes her way....

I love my Patti ( my mother's mother) with all my heart...she is no more! But she fits the same description as yours....she would say "fine" or "pain" as the case may be :)

God, I miss her sooooo much, tears spring to my eyes! I wish she had met my wonderful husband often...:)
